A Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion, Château Larcis Ducasse is at the top of the list of the most famous wines of its appellation.
Owned by the Gratiot-Attmane family and under the management of Nicolas Thienpont, the magnificent Château Larcis Ducasse occupies an exceptional terroir at the far end of Pavie on the right bank of Bordeaux. Spread over 11.15 hectares, the vineyard is planted on an argilo-limestone plateau with asterias, south-facing terraces and clay-silty soils, as well as a hillside of clay and limestone soils.
The Château Larcis Ducasse 2018 blend is made up of Merlot (89%) and Cabernet Franc (11%). A great vintage for Bordeaux from a must-try Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Larcis Ducasse features wonderfully expressive scents of baked black and red plums, kirsch, rose hip tea and cigar box with hints of pencil shavings, baked redcurrants and truffles plus a waft of licorice. Full-bodied and beautifully nuanced on the palate, it has layer upon layer of red and black fruit preserves with beautiful, velvety tannins and loads of freshness, finishing long and perfumed.
