    Vinum

Riper and more driven by dark fruit than in the past, this bouquet shows great complexity and depth: blackberries, blackcurrant, violet flowers, with only very subtle toasty notes. The palate opens creamy, with rich, ripe fruit, countered by powdery limestone tannins and excellent acidity. Very energetic, with drive and length, finishing with a salty touch over blueberry notes. Once again this year, Laroque is a sure bet!

Another great success and value pick for Laroque. Really aromatically complex. Ripe and pristine black bramble berries on the nose, perfumed and nicely fragrant. Lovely aromatic purity. Smooth and so silky, smooth, svelte as Laroque does so well. Mouthwatering with bright acidity but so juicy – strawberry and cherry with a hint of cranberry and soft accents of dried herbs liquorice and wet stones. Grippy but so charming even at this point. Tension with freshness, perfectly polished and friendly. A yield of 31hl/ha with varying yields depending on the terroir from 25-45hl/ha. 3.40pH.

The estate's signature floral aromatics are on full display, followed by black raspberries, licorice, spice, espresso, and cherry nuances fill the perfume. Fresh, juicy, vibrant, creamy, and concentrated on the palate, the finish delivers its clean, lifted, salty-edged berries with precision from start to finish. The wine was made with 99% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc, 13.8% ABV. Harvesting took place September 10 - September 19. Drink from 2030-2050. 94-96 Pts

Laroque reveals itself with discretion, like an artist stepping onto the stage to take in the space. Yet it sends out precise, sharply defined signals, evoking nuances of ripe fruit—though never overripe. At the same time, it highlights the freshness of its clay-limestone terroir, which brings out not only chalky nuances and flinty notes, but also floral accents. Velvety and generous on the attack, the wine shows greater serenity on the palate than on the nose. It has grown bolder and no longer hesitates to reveal a vigorous yet subtle nature. The tannins make themselves known around mid-palate, but it is on the finish that they reach full breadth—where they have their best effect—creating an unfailing foundation alongside incisive acidity that acts as an invigorating driving force. Laroque has not chosen the easy path, but the one of relevance. One must know how to claim greatness when operating in such a context, within spheres of excellence. Over the years, the wines of Château Laroque have gained in confidence and depth, and have clearly reached a level that allows their ambitions to be displayed in full. A magnificent success, born of the convergence of long-term work, an exceptional terroir, and, ultimately, a growing season that was certainly unusual, yet highly successful given the result. Above all, it is Laroque that is great.

Deep, intense color with bright highlights. Highly aromatic, with a fruity, subtle nose. Caressing on the attack, with plenty of flavor through the mid-palate, a melting body and a refined texture, the wine glides across the palate, juicy and distinguished with its tannic support. Good, savory length. Blend: 99% Merlot from massal and old selections, 1% Cabernet Franc. Alcohol: 13.8% - pH: 3.40. Yield: 31 hl/ha.

The Mineral Brilliance of a Great Saint-Emilion Terroir

    The Estate
Established as early as the 12th century in the form of a defensive fortress, Château Laroque is a historic estate in the Bordeaux region. After a period of dormancy, the property was revived in 1935 when it was acquired by the Beaumartin family, who remain its owners to this day. Now managed by Stanislas Droin and technically directed by David Suire, this 61-hectare gem in a single block stands as the largest estate in its appellation, recognized for its architectural heritage and the high quality of its production.

    The Vineyard
Set on the heights of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, this single-block vineyard overlooks the Saint-Émilion appellation. The vines, averaging 45 years old and originating from old massal selections, thrive on a complex geological plateau. This exceptional terroir is composed of three distinct types of limestone interwoven with golden, red, and white clays. The estate is farmed according to non-certified organic practices and holds the High Environmental Value certification, fostering rich biodiversity.

    Vinification and Aging
Tailor-made and entirely manual harvests. The Merlot berries were picked between September 10 and 19, followed by the Cabernet Franc on September 19. With yields reaching 31 hl/ha, rigorous sorting allowed 66% of the grapes and juices to be selected for the grand vin. To craft this wine, the whole berries are gravity-fed into the vats. Vinification is carried out on a parcel-by-parcel basis in small concrete tanks. Aging then takes place in the traditional manner on fine lees for 16 to 18 months. Half of the wine rests in barrels (including 50% new oak), while the other half ages in oak foudres. Alcohol content: 13.8% vol.
