    Vinum

Complex, a layered bouquet of aromas—cassis, herbs, violets, citrus notes, a perfume; straight on the palate, crisp fruit, supported by excellent tannin quality, all elements in harmony, long, finely spicy, elegant. Successful!

Perfumed purple berries – plum and damson on the palate. Lots of florality, really scented and expressive. Juicy and supple, nicely agile and energetic – great weight, no heaviness, really complete and it coats the mouth in a powdery soft fleshiness, not heavy but not light. A balanced wine with plenty of underlying power and fruit-forwardness. I really like this, gently layered – great acidity, juiciness and a sense of ease to it. Gentle, smooth, charming, round, fresh and cool. Great stuff.

The 2023 Nénin is pliant and super expressive right out of the gate. Blackberry, incense, licorice, grilled herbs and tobacco build nicely in the glass. This is the first vintage that includes a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. Brisk acids and beams of tannin shape this classy, structured Pomerol. Nicely done.

Truffle, black cherries, flowers, licorice, and chocolate create the aromatic profile. The palate is fruity, fresh, and supple, with layers of dark chocolate, plums, espresso, and cherries, capturing its energy and softness perfectly. The wine blends 67% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is the first vintage with Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. Drink from 2028-2044.

    Falstaff

    Falstaff

Deep dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate rim brightening. Herbal savouriness and bitter chocolate on the nose, along with dark berry aromas such as elderberry and a hint of pine resin. On the palate, the wine starts immediately salty; the tannin is fine- to medium-grained and has clearly been carefully extracted. A good, natural and unaffected structure that finishes with good length.

Mocha, blood orange, creamy ripe damson and black fruits, a swirl of peony flowers, succulent without being heavy; this is a great Nenin, showing the potential of the estate’s 20-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, used in the blend for the first time in this vintage. 40% new oak for ageing, 46 hl/ha yield, 3.68 pH. Pomerol estate owned by the Delon family of Léoville Las Cases.

Structured and full of ripe black fruits, the wine has a core of firm tannins. It is spicy with juicy berry flavors and a black coffee aroma. Drink from 2029.

Offers a direct and pure core of red and black currant fruit laced with singed alder and savory through the focused finish. Shows a late sanguine echo. A solid, bling-free expression of Pomerol. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2027 through 2038.

The fruit’s brilliance is also clearly expressed in the grand vin, though in a more restrained style, with hints of sweet spices and a touch of liquorice. A creamy opening leads into an elegant, linear wine where tannins and acidity complement each other. Carried by a harmonious structure, the wine is inviting and can certainly be enjoyed in its youth, while also offering a respectable ageing potential.

Dark, intense colour with bright highlights. A very aromatic, refined, fruity and subtle nose. Precise on the attack and silky on the palate, the wine melts in the mouth, aromatic and long, with a wonderfully smooth texture. Beautiful, sappy length. For the first time, the integration of Cabernet Sauvignon lends this wine a distinctive character.

Notes of sweet berries, cherries and petals, along with a subtle hint of leather, introduce the 2023 Nenin, a medium- to full-bodied and open-knit wine that is framed by powdery tannins. This will be approachable young.
