    Description

The density and crunchiness of an exceptional Pomerol wine

    The property
Owned by the Bourotte-Audy family, the Clos du Clocher estate is located in the heart of the Pomerol plateau. Like a "wonderful garden" surrounded by walls, Clos du Clocher is an essential reference of the great Pomerol wines thanks to its assertive and unique style.

    The vineyard

The Clos du Clocher vineyard extends over 5.90 hectares of vines with an average age of 33 years. Located on the Pomerol plateau, facing the church, the vineyard enjoys an exceptional location. The vines of Clos du Clocher are planted on clay-lime soils resting on subsoils of blue clays and deep gravels. Committed to a global environmental policy, the vineyard is managed with reasoned viticulture.

    Blend

    Merlot, cabernet franc.

Characteristics and tasting advice for Clos du Clocher 2017

    Tasting

    Nose
The bouquet reveals intense notes of wild strawberries and blackberries, evolving towards the delicacy of floral notes reminiscent of iris and violet, THE signature of Pomerol.

    Palate
With elegance and vivacity, the palate reveals the depth of a dense material, offering tannins whose chewiness displays a tight and balanced grain. With a beautiful persistence, the finish ends on the freshness of graphite notes. A massive, fleshy and deep Pomerol with a most promising evolution potential.
