    La RVF

An earthy nose, but the palate shows juicy, rich substance with powerful, well-coated tannins.

    Description

The typicity of a Pommard wine

    The property

The Domaine Albert Grivault was founded in 1879 in Meursault. Currently led by Claire and Henri-Marc Bardet, descendants of Albert Grivault, the estate emphasizes the parcel expression of its wines, mainly white wines made from chardonnay (83%), while also producing a remarkable pinot noir in Pommard. Its philanthropic commitment, illustrated by the donation to the Hospice de Beaune in 1904, and the family transmission through four generations reinforce its unique identity.

    The vineyard

This essential Burgundy estate extends over 5 to 6 hectares and stands out for its monopoly, the Clos des Perrières, a renowned Premier Cru.

    The wine

The Clos Blanc of Pommard is an exceptional terroir established in the 12th century by the Abbey of Cîteaux. This plot of 89 ares, oriented north-south, rests on soils composed of sandy clays and stony clays from the lower slopes. Initially planted with white grape varieties, as its name suggests, it is now cultivated with pinot noir. The vines, with an average age of 38 years (the oldest dating from 1937), benefit from a unique terroir that gives the wine its distinctive personality.

    Vinification and aging

Hand harvesting and total destemming. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels, with a limited proportion of new wood, thus providing structure and complexity without masking the fruit and the characteristics of the terroir.

    Grape variety

This 1er cru "Clos Blanc" 2018 from Domaine Albert Grivault is a 100% pinot noir.
