    Decanter

This wine is among the most outstanding values in Burgundy, and the 2023 vintage does not disappoint. There is a great purity to the red and black fruit character, accented with floral notes and a bit of peppery spice. The structure is silky, yet not lacking structure or grip; this is a wine that places the emphasis on finesse and elegance. The grapes are from nearly a hectare owned by the domaine at the top of the slope above La Tâche. Even though it is right next to Aux Reignots, it is classified as villages.

    Le Figaro Vin

A pure, transparent nose, like clear water. Just-ripe summer berries—sumptuous and mouthwatering. The palate unfolds generous layers of blue and black fruit, both sweet and tangy, supple yet vibrant. A true lesson in balance.

The Finesse and Depth of a Vosne-Romanée Red Wine

    The Estate

Officially founded in 1979 by Bruno Clair, Domaine Bruno Clair carries on the legacy of the renowned Clair-Daü family estate. Located in Marsannay-la-Côte, in Burgundy, the estate is still run today by Bruno Clair. The vineyard spans nearly 27 hectares across eight villages and 32 prestigious appellations. Known for its meticulous approach, the estate favours massale selection, has abandoned chemical herbicides in favour of soil cultivation and cover crops, and practises careful vine pruning, resulting in wines of remarkable precision.

    The Vineyard

This Vosne-Romanée comes from the "Les Champs Perdrix" climat, a 0.84-hectare plot planted in 1948. Rising to 320 metres in altitude, this terroir is among the highest in the appellation, directly overlooking the illustrious grands crus La Tâche and La Grande Rue. Facing east and south-east, these old vines thrive on shallow clay-limestone soils resting on a bedrock of hard Comblanchien limestone, giving the wine its tension and elegance.

    Winemaking and Ageing

The creation of the Vosne-Romanée Village "Les Champs Perdrix" 2023 begins with a slow, low-temperature fermentation initiated by indigenous yeasts. The winemaking process includes 20 to 30% whole clusters, followed by a 10- to 15-day maceration in wooden vats. Ageing then continues for 18 to 20 months in French oak barrels, around 30% of which are new, refining the structure while preserving the brightness of the fruit.

    Grape Variety

    100% Pinot Noir.
