The estate
The modern history of Domaine Comte Abbatucci began in the 1920s with Jacques Abbatucci. Located in Corsica, France, this family estate is now run by Jean-Charles Abbatucci, supported by his daughter Faustine. A pioneer of biodynamics on the island since 2000, the estate stands out for its holistic approach and its role as a living conservatory, home to eighteen indigenous grape varieties. Domaine Comte Abbatucci has thus established itself as an essential benchmark, combining respect for living things, historical legacy and the promotion of a unique winegrowing heritage.
The vineyard
This Vin de France comes from vines grown in the heart of the Taravo Valley, at a moderate altitude. The specific terroir of this cuvée consists of sandy-silty soils, particularly well suited to the expression of the estate's white grape variety. The vineyard is farmed according to strict biodynamic principles, which regard the soil as a living organism. The ecosystem is preserved through the use of natural preparations, ploughing with draught horses and the presence of ewes to maintain the grass cover.
Vinification and ageing
For the Faustine Vieilles Vignes 2025 cuvée, the grapes are harvested by hand. Winemaking follows a low-intervention approach, guided by the lunar calendar and the exclusive use of indigenous yeasts during spontaneous fermentations. Ageing is carried out without any use of wood in order to preserve the purity of the fruit and the authentic expression of the terroir.
Grape variety
Vermentino.
