The estate
Located at over 100 meters above sea level, Domaine Comte Abbatucci is one of the oldest vineyards in Corsica.
Tracing its origins back more than a century, the estate pays tribute through its cuvées to its illustrious family figures (General of the French Revolution, diplomat, minister under the reign of Napoleon III) whose destiny has marked the family's history.
Keen to preserve this exceptional island terroir, the estate cultivates indigenous grape varieties that give its wines a unique character.
Since 2000, the entire vineyard has been farmed biodynamically to magnify the characteristics of a unique Corsican terroir while preserving an exceptional natural environment.
The vineyard
Produced as Vin de France, the Monte Bianco cuvée from Domaine Abbatucci comes from a north-facing vineyard where the vines grow on a granitic terroir.
Vinification and aging
Gravity reception of the harvest before destemming without crushing. Skin maceration in thermo-regulated truncated cone vats and maceration for about 1 month with daily punch-downs and pump-overs. Spontaneous fermentations take place in wood. After draining and pressing of the marc, the juices are separated before aging in demi-muids for 12 months. Racking and Blend in stainless steel tanks precede 6 months of aging before bottling.
Grape variety
100% Sciaccarello.
