    Description

Characteristics and Tasting Notes for the Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Amoureuses" Joseph Faiveley 2024

    Tasting

    Colour
This red wine reveals a particularly bright, clear and brilliant ruby colour.

    Nose
Initially discreet, the bouquet quickly gains intensity, revealing refined aromas of red fruits such as cherry and wild raspberry, underscored by floral touches of violet, lilac and dried rose. With aeration, a lovely complexity emerges, showing mineral and spicy notes reminiscent of fresh earth and liquorice.

    Palate
The attack is rich and concentrated, releasing flavours of morello cherry and pomegranate. The palate is full-bodied and silky, supported by tannins of great suppleness and extreme finesse. The finish lingers on nuances of sweet spices, walnut oil and liquorice.

    Food and Wine Pairing

This cuvée pairs wonderfully with roasted or braised red meats, such as a peppered beef steak, as well as with game such as venison or pheasant served with morels. It will also enhance roast poultry or moderately strong cheeses like Époisses or a young Comté.

    Service and Storage

Blessed with impressive ageing potential, the Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Amoureuses" Joseph Faiveley 2024 deserves a light aeration in the glass when tasted, to fully reveal the complexity of its aromatic palette.

The Finesse and Complexity of a Great Burgundian Terroir

    The Estate

Founded in 1825 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Faiveley is a true institution in Burgundy. This vast 120-hectare estate is now run by Erwan and Eve Faiveley, who represent the seventh generation and form the first sibling duo to lead the property. Combining respect for tradition with a spirit of innovation, the estate celebrated its bicentenary in 2025 by achieving organic certification across all of its land, confirming its deep commitment to preserving its exceptional terroirs.

    The Vineyard

This wine comes from the climat Les Amoureuses, the most celebrated of the Premiers Crus of Chambolle-Musigny. This tiny plot of around 0.39 hectares rises to 270 metres in altitude on a gentle east-facing slope. The vines, around forty years old and trained using the Guyot method, thrive on a very stony clay-limestone terroir, lending the wine remarkable minerality and concentration.

    The Vintage

2024 benefited from particularly favourable growing conditions for the vines, allowing the grapes to reach optimal ripeness despite the various climatic challenges encountered in certain areas of the Burgundy region.

    Winemaking and Aging

To craft this Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Amoureuses" Joseph Faiveley 2024, the grapes are harvested entirely by hand with rigorous sorting. Vinification is carried out with 70% destemmed grapes and indigenous yeasts, punctuated by regular punching down with no enzyme additions. The wine is then aged for 16 months in French oak barrels (25% new wood), before being bottled without fining or filtration to preserve its full integrity.
