The Elegance and Precision of a Grand Cru from Burgundy by Domaine Faiveley

    The Estate

Founded in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Faiveley embodies the excellence of Burgundy through seven generations of family passion. Now led by Erwan and Ève Faiveley, the estate oversees a vast vineyard of more than 120 hectares spread across the region's most prestigious terroirs. Celebrating its bicentenary in 2025, the estate stands out for its deep environmental commitment, having become the largest wine estate in Burgundy to be certified organic. Its wines are renowned for their elegance, precision and authentic expression of terroir.

    The Vineyard

Charmes-Chambertin is a celebrated Grand Cru located in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, in the Côte de Nuits. The estate's plot, covering 0.81 hectares and facing east, rests on a complex terroir made up of 40% brown clay soils, along with lava, iron ore and stony elements. Farmed entirely according to organic principles, this vineyard benefits from a gentle slope offering optimal sun exposure for the ripening of the grapes.

    The Vintage

The year 2024 was marked by moderate ripening conditions. This mild climate allowed the grapes to reach optimal phenolic ripeness while preserving great aromatic freshness and fine structural precision, avoiding any excess heat.

    Winemaking and Aging

The grapes for the Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru "Joseph Faiveley" 2024 are harvested by hand in small crates. After gentle destemming, the berries are transferred to the vats by gravity. Fermentation begins naturally thanks to indigenous yeasts and lasts between fifteen and eighteen days at a moderate temperature. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels (25 to 50% new oak) for twelve to eighteen months in the estate's 19th-century vaulted cellars, where malolactic fermentation takes place naturally.

    Grape Variety

    100% Pinot Noir.
