    Palate
The attack is full and generous, offering a silky texture. The palate stands out for its beautiful mineral tension and a lively acidity that perfectly balance the wine's volume. The finish stretches with exceptional length, marked by citrus notes.

The mineral expression of a Meursault Premier Cru by Domaine Faiveley

    The estate

Founded in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley, Domaine Faiveley stands as a true institution in Burgundy. Historically based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the estate today watches over an extensive vineyard of 127 hectares stretching from the Côte de Nuits to the Côte Chalonnaise. Currently led by the seventh generation, embodied by Erwan and Eve Faiveley, the estate brilliantly combines respect for ancestral traditions with modernisation. Certified in organic farming, this prestigious house illustrates the excellence of the Burgundian terroir through cuvées of great precision.

    The vineyard

Located in the prestigious Meursault appellation, in the Côte de Beaune, the Climat of Blagny enjoys a privileged position at approximately 260 metres in altitude. The vines benefit from a fine east and south-south-east exposure, encouraging optimal ripening of the berries. This singular terroir rests on a complex geological mosaic, composed of Jurassic limestone marls, magnesian limestones and Argovian marls.

    The vintage

The 2023 year was marked by an exceptional accumulation of heat throughout the growing cycle. After concerns regarding the ripeness of the berries at the end of the summer, an intense five-day heatwave struck the vineyard around 20 August. This scorching episode was followed by a cooler period accompanied by 20 to 25 millimetres of rainfall, allowing the maturities to be refined before the harvest.

    Vinification and ageing

Crafted from rigorously selected grapes under the house's négociant label, this Meursault 1er cru "Blagny" Joseph Faiveley 2023 benefits from precise winemaking. Fermentations take place in bespoke wooden vats, followed by a carefully managed ageing in French oak barrels, allowing the woody notes to be subtly integrated.

    Grape variety

    Chardonnay (100%).
