The authentic expression of a great terroir from the Rhône Valley

    The estate
Founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in the village of Ampuis, the family-owned E. Guigal House is a true institution of the Rhône Valley. After propelling Côte-Rôtie to the summit of world viticulture under the leadership of Marcel Guigal, the estate has continued to grow. Today, Philippe Guigal, representing the third generation, runs the property with his wife Eve. The acquisition of Château de Nalys in 2017 marks a historic milestone for the House, fulfilling its dream of establishing a lasting presence in the southern part of the region to produce wines of excellence.

    The vineyard

Château de Nalys, located within the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation, extends over 75 hectares of vines at approximately 130 m in altitude, between Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail, an advantage for keeping alcohol levels in check amid climate change. Its vineyard is spread across several plots with varied soils: sands and sandstones (Nalys), pebbles and clays (Bois Sénéchal), the emblematic rolled stones (La Crau), a clay plateau (Pied Long), and fine sands (Saintes Vierges). These terroirs yield wines ranging from fresh profiles to more sun-drenched, robust and structured expressions, depending on the plots.
The estate cultivates the 13 authorised grape varieties (up to 18 colour variants), a precious diversity for fine-tuning the blends and preserving the balance of the wines in the face of the climate.

    Grape varieties

This wine is made from a blend of Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picardan, Picpoul and Roussanne.
