Founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in the heart of the Rhône Valley, E. Guigal is a leading name in French winemaking. The vineyard
This wine comes from the famous Ermitage hill, a unique terroir benefiting from a very favourable southern exposure. The grapes are sourced from four distinct plots acquired by the estate: Bessards, Greffieux, L'Ermite and Murets. Aged between fifty and ninety years, these old vines are tended using environmentally friendly practices rooted in the principles of sustainable agriculture, allowing the full richness and complexity of this historic site to be expressed.

The vintage
The 2022 vintage was marked by extreme weather conditions, with intense heat and severe drought. However, the cool nights helped preserve a beautiful acidity, while timely rainfall ensured ideal ripening throughout the growing cycle.
