Fire & Cane: the alliance of sweetness and complexity

The 4th release in the “Experimental Series,” created in 2018 with the ambition to develop a peated whisky with a rum finish. The peated whisky, produced with local Highlands peat known for its more vegetal and herbaceous notes than Islay’s, benefits from aging in traditional oak casks (ex-bourbon). It is then blended with a classic house whisky before refining its maturation in a Latin American rum cask. These cask-strength rums aged 3 to 5 years impart delicious vanilla and caramelized notes. These rums are aged for several months in the distillery’s American white oak casks before being used for the final maturation of this Scotch whiskies.
