Appearance

This rum displays a deep golden hue with amber highlights, reflecting its 13 years of aging in oak casks under the tropical climate of La Réunion.

Nose

The aromatic profile is complex and well-balanced. On the nose, the rum reveals notes of grapefruit, clove and lavender. With aeration, elegant oak sets in, followed by coconut aromas that herald the richness of the tasting.

Palate

The attack confirms the coconut notes, then aromas of blond tobacco, toasted brioche and exotic fruits emerge. Notes of pastry, honey and spices develop, lifted by indulgent touches of salted butter caramel. The finish is delicate and warming, releasing vanilla flavors that melt into indulgent ice cream, then open onto a distinctive minerality reminiscent of pencil lead, with a return of cane sugar and coconut cake, before concluding on a harmony of chocolate and apple.

This exceptional rum, bottled at 79.5% natural strength, is best enjoyed neat, ideally at room temperature. A few drops of water can be added to reveal even more of its aromatic complexity and soften its power.

Isautier, the oldest distillery on La Réunion

Founded in 1845 by brothers Charles and Louis Isautier, Isautier remains the oldest distillery on La Réunion and a French family-owned company now run by Cyril Isautier. Based in Saint-Pierre, the House oversees the entire production chain, from cultivating 320 hectares of sugarcane through to distillation. A pioneer of modern flavored rums, it produces a complete range of white, aged and flavored rums, characterized by fresh, fruity and finely oaked notes, shaped by La Réunion’s sea spray. A limited edition from exceptional tropical aging

L'Aventurier 13-year-old Brut de Fût 2008 is an ultra-limited edition produced in highly confidential quantities. This rum comes from a single cask, most of which was reduced to 58% to create the standard version, while this Brut de fût cuvée preserves the natural strength of 79.5% reached after 13 years of maturation.

The production process follows a carefully orchestrated double maturation: the rum first rests for 6 to 14 months in new oak barrels heated according to the guidelines of oenologist Mathieu Cosse, allowing elegant woody aromas and vanilla notes to be extracted. It is then transferred to used barrels that previously held Isautier rum, where it continues aging in a tropical environment. This method gives the spirit its unique aromatic complexity, combining power, finesse and an exceptional, indulgent palette.

Bottled at its natural strength of 79.5%, this traditional molasses rum has not been reduced in any way, thus preserving the full aromatic concentration acquired during its long tropical aging on La Réunion.
