Characteristics and tasting notes for the Louis Jadot Bourgogne Blanc "Domaine des Croix Perrières" 2023
Tasting notes

The wine is clear and bright, revealing a pale yellow hue with lemony highlights.
Nose
Generous and expressive, the aromatic bouquet combines notes of white fruit (pear) and stone fruit (peach, apricot) with delicate touches of white flowers, almond and citrus.
Palate
Full-bodied and fleshy, the palate seduces with a volume perfectly balanced by a fine, energetic acidity. This refreshing tension carries the wine through to a flavourful, particularly generous finish.
Food and wine pairing
This white wine pairs beautifully with fatty fish, seafood or scallops. It also goes wonderfully well with delicate poultry, chicken liver terrine or refined vegetarian dishes.
Serving and cellaring
Approachable even in its youth, this Bourgogne Blanc "Domaine des Croix Perrières" 2023 can be enjoyed now and will keep until around 2029.
A distinctive expression of white Burgundy from Louis Jadot
The estate
Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, Maison Louis Jadot is a true institution in Burgundy. Now owned by the American Kopf family and led by chairman Thomas Seiter, with Thibault Gagey as managing director, the house oversees a vast vineyard of around 240 hectares. Stretching from the Chablis area to Beaujolais, the estate stands out for its strong environmental commitment, certified High Environmental Value, and its ongoing conversion to organic farming. Combining both négociant and estate-grown activities, the house continues to uphold a precise, minimal-intervention style that respects each terroir.
The vineyard
Sourced from a single, unified plot located in Saint-Désert, in the Côte Chalonnaise, this Bourgogne cuvée comes from one hectare of vines planted on a mid-slope. Benefiting from an ideal south-facing exposure for berry ripening, this terroir, historically renowned for its white wines, rests on soils well suited to the grape variety's development. The vineyard is managed according to sustainable practices, without herbicides, favouring soil tillage, cover cropping and hand harvesting to preserve biodiversity and fruit quality.
The vintage
2023 stood out for climatic conditions that encouraged rapid berry ripening. Marked by periods of heat that led to a high potential alcohol content, the season also saw some rainy spells that required close vigilance in the vineyards to safeguard fruit health.
Winemaking and ageing
Harvested relatively early to preserve fine tension, the grapes are pressed with great care. The winemaking process for the Bourgogne Blanc "Domaine des Croix Perrières" 2023 follows a minimal-intervention approach, relying on indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for around nine months in French oak barrels, mostly used, to add texture and depth without masking the purity of the fruit.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay.
