a full-bodied and silky Grand Cru de Bourgogne

The Estate
Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, this Burgundian family estate perpetuates a unique heritage combining cooperage and winemaking. Owner of 33 hectares including Grands Crus de Corton, Louis Latour stands out for its dual expertise inherited from its cooperage origins. A pioneer in exporting since 1815 and a former supplier to European royal courts, the house remains an unmissable reference for Bourgogne wines since settling at rue des Tonnelliers in Beaune in 1867.

The Vineyard
The vines of Corton "Clos du Roi" are perfectly east-facing on the hill of Corton, in the village of Aloxe-Corton. They are planted on a marl and limestone subsoil which imparts the wine with its characteristic structure and minerality. Severe pruning enables late harvesting, thereby ensuring optimal ripeness and richness of the grapes.

Vinification and Aging
Winemaking is carried out traditionally in open vats, with a complete malolactic fermentation. The aging lasts 10 to 12 months in oak barrels, 25% of which are new, sourced from the Louis Latour cooperage with medium toast.

Grape Variety
Pinot Noir (100%).
