An emblematic name among the great wines of the northern Rhône Valley, the House of Paul Jaboulet-Aîné was founded in 1834 in Tain L’Hermitage. Renowned winemaker and winegrower Caroline Frey heads this illustrious house, owned by the Frey family since 2006. Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné oversees a 125-hectare vineyard, spread across exceptional appellations such as Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, Hermitage, Cornas, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu as well as Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise.
The vineyard
This Domaine de la Croix des Vignes is a Saint-Joseph wine from a 1.5-hectare terroir located within the appellation’s historic vineyard area, above Mauves and Tournon sur Rhône. The vines, around 10 to 30 years old, are planted on a south-facing site with decomposed granite soils.
