An exceptional Tyrolean eau-de-vie made from Nancy mirabelle plums
Rochelt, Austrian eau-de-vie excellence since 1989
Founded in 1989 by Günter Rochelt in Fritzens, in the Austrian Tyrol, Rochelt embodies Austrian eau-de-vie excellence. Now led by Alexander Rainer, the founder’s son-in-law, this family distillery perpetuates an ancestral Tyrolean know-how. Rochelt stands out for its rigorous selection of fruit harvested at optimal ripeness, natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and traditional double distillation requiring up to 80 kg of fruit per liter. This uncompromising artisanal approach—prioritizing quality over quantity—has established Rochelt as a global benchmark among the most discerning connoisseurs.
Mirabelle 2010, an elixir of Nancy mirabelle plums
Rochelt Mirabelle 2010 is an eau-de-vie made from Nancy mirabelle plums, renowned as the finest mirabelle variety. These exceptional fruits are grown in the Weinviertel winegrowing area in Lower Austria, where they reach perfect ripeness under ideal climatic conditions.
The production process reflects absolute rigor: the mirabelles are handpicked with the greatest care and set to ferment the very same day at the grower’s, through a natural fermentation without any additives. A double distillation in a copper pot still is then carried out to extract the precious heart cut. It is aged for a minimum of 9 years in open glass demijohns, allowing outstanding maturation and optimal concentration of the aromas of this 2010 vintage.
