Description
The richness and balance of a red wine from Patagonia
The estate
Bodega Chacra invites you to the heart of the Río Negro region, at the southern tip of Argentina. This gem was brought to life in 2004 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta. The adventure began at a tasting in New York, when he tasted a wine that caught his particular attention: a Pinot Noir from Río Negro. For our protagonist, it was a revelation, as he immediately recognized the potential of these terroirs: ungrafted vines from 1932, massal selections, ideal climatic conditions… Thus, Piero Incisa della Rocchetta set sail for this natural gem to create his dream wines – nectars that, as he says, convey the taste "of a place on the planet".
The vineyard
Bodega Chacra is rooted in the heart of the Río Negro region in Patagonia, on soils formed by the confluence of the two rivers Limay and Neuquén. From there they extend to the horizon, across plains and forests, at an altitude between 290 and 330 meters. Here, in this green lung, the estate thrives, nestled in a natural setting with 24 hectares of vines.
The wine
The Cincuenta y Cinco Pinot Noir comes from a vineyard planted with vines on pebbly soils since 1955, and is farmed organically and biodynamically.
Grape variety
Cincuenta y Cinco 2024 by Bodega Chacra is a 100% Pinot Noir.
