An outstanding Tyrolean eau-de-vie
Rochelt, an essential family-run House
Rochelt, an exceptional Austrian eau-de-vie, was born in the 1980s in Tyrol thanks to Günter Rochelt, who built his distillery in Fritzens in 1989 and marketed his first bottles in 1991. Today, this family-run House remains owned by the Rochelt family, led by Alexander Rainer, the founder’s son-in-law, supported by Annia. The distillery upholds an obsessive rigor: up to 80 kg of fruit for one liter, multiple harvest passes to guarantee optimal ripeness, traditional double distillation, and extended aging in a demijohn. Each emerald-green bottle, labeled by hand, embodies three centuries of Tyrolean know-how and an absolute commitment to artisanal excellence.
Cerise Noire de Bâle 2015: an exceptional Swiss variety
Cerise Noire de Bâle 2015 Eau-de-vie is crafted from a gentle variety highly prized in the Basel region of Switzerland. These heart-shaped cherries—juicy, sweet, and intensely aromatic—are meticulously selected at peak ripeness, in keeping with the centuries-old Tyrolean tradition perpetuated by the Rochelt distillery.
The transformation of these top-quality fruits follows a rigorous process: 100% natural fermentation with no additions, triggered exclusively by the native yeasts present on the fruit skins, followed by delicate double distillation. The distillate then ages for several years in a demijohn, allowing the cherry aromas to concentrate to their quintessence. This artisanal production method, combined with the exceptional quality of the raw material, makes this 2015 vintage eau-de-vie an exceptional spirit, bottled in 35cl format at 50°.
