An exceptional Tyrolean eau-de-vie made from Williams pears from Styria
Rochelt: Austrian eau-de-vie excellence since 1970
Founded in the 1970s by Günter Rochelt in Fritzens, in the Austrian Tyrol, Rochelt embodies excellence in fruit eau-de-vie. After twenty years of experimentation, commercialization began in 1991. Since 2009, Alexander Rainer, the founder’s son-in-law, has led this family distillery supplying the world’s finest establishments. Rochelt stands out for its natural fermentation with no additives, a rigorous selection of fruit at optimal ripeness, traditional double distillation, and extended aging of up to twelve years in glass demijohns. Each bottle, requiring up to 80 kg of fruit, is finished with a goldsmith-crafted stopper, a testament to exceptional Tyrolean artisanal expertise.
Poire Williams 2016: a rigorous selection and ancestral know-how
The Williams pears used for this 2016 cuvée come from western Styria in Austria, where they are grown in ideal climatic conditions. The fruit is selected with extreme rigor, with multiple passes—up to 15 times per orchard—so that only perfectly ripe pears are picked. This exacting approach ensures optimal raw material quality. Crafting then follows with an extremely meticulous traditional double distillation, designed to extract the very best from the fruit. Aging in an open glass demijohn for at least six years refines the spirit and harmonizes its aromas. Each bottle is adorned with a goldsmith-crafted stopper, the signature of the Maison Rochelt’s artisanal excellence.

Made from Williams pears grown in western Styria under ideal climatic conditions, it benefits from extremely meticulous double distillation followed by at least six years of aging in an open glass demijohn. Production requires up to 80 kg of fruit to obtain 1 liter of the "heart cut," ensuring exceptional aromatic concentration. Made from 100% pure fruit, 100% natural, this eau-de-vie undergoes entirely natural fermentation, without any additives or chemical products, and is never filtered to preserve the integrity of the final product.
