Description
A racy and elegant old-vine Châteauneuf-du-Pape
The estate
Founded in 1996 in Lourmarin, in the heart of the Luberon, Maison Tardieu-Laurent has established itself as a distinctive négociant-éleveur in the Rhône Valley. With no vineyards of its own, it works with nearly one hundred partner growers spread across the finest appellations of the Rhône. Now run by Michel Tardieu and his son Bastien, the house upholds an ageing philosophy inspired by Burgundian methods, focusing on the selection of old vines and meticulous ageing to reveal the full richness of the Rhône terroirs.
The vineyard
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape comes from old vines selected by Maison Tardieu-Laurent within a mosaic of the appellation's great terroirs, the fruit of long-standing work with its partner growers in the southern Rhône Valley.
Winemaking and ageing
True to the Burgundian philosophy that drives Maison Tardieu-Laurent, this 2025 Châteauneuf-du-Pape benefits from carefully managed ageing in both barrels and foudres, in order to reveal the density and finesse characteristic of grapes from old vines.
Grape varieties
This 2025 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is made from a traditional blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, with Grenache remaining the dominant variety, true to the identity of the appellation.
