The vineyard

Xavier Vignon unveils old vintages of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines, expressing all the aromatic potential and richness of this iconic appellation. This 1998 vintage is crafted from a selection of parcels resting on soils composed of sand and rolled pebbles on the surface, as well as red clay, sand and limestone at depth.

Vinification and ageing

Full destemming and partial crushing. Vinification in truncated wooden vats and traditional concrete tanks. Ageing was carried out exclusively in concrete tanks in order to preserve the freshness and expression of the fruit.

Blend

This vintage is the result of a blend of different grape varieties from the estate's "collection vines", predominantly Grenache.
