    Tasting

    Color

The color displays a deep ruby red hue with delicate violet highlights.

    Nose

The nose reveals aromas of red and black fruits, notably cherry, strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant, alongside delicate woody and spicy notes.

    Palate

On the palate, this wine charms with its balance of power and elegance. The texture is generous and structured, supported by silky, well-integrated tannins. A fine freshness brings lift to the whole and carries through to a lingering finish with mineral accents.

This Gevrey-Chambertin Village 2021 pairs perfectly with red meats in sauce such as boeuf bourguignon or saddle of lamb. It also goes very well with game dishes and assertive aged cheeses.

    Serving and cellaring

The Gevrey-Chambertin Village 2021 can be enjoyed now and will continue to develop until around 2031.

An Elegant, Structured Gevrey-Chambertin from the Côte de Nuits

    The estate

Founded in 1731 in Beaune by Michel Bouchard, the House of Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy. Now owned by Artémis Domaines (François Pinault) since 2022, the estate spans 99 hectares in the Côte d'Or, two-thirds of which are classified as Premier and Grand Cru vineyards. Certified organic in 2025, the estate will begin its conversion to biodynamics in 2026.

    The vineyard

Gevrey-Chambertin is a prestigious village appellation of the Côte de Nuits. The vines grow on brown limestone soils enriched with marl and gravelly scree from the plateau. The southeast and east exposure of the parcels, located between 280 and 330 meters above sea level, provides ideal conditions for the ripening of Pinot Noir.

    The vintage

The 2021 vintage in Burgundy was marked by a severe frost in early April that affected the young buds. The cool, rainy summer required constant vigilance against fungal diseases. Fortunately, from mid-August onward, conditions improved with sunny weather and the arrival of the northerly wind in early September. Harvest took place in September under good conditions, delivering historically low yields but grapes of fine quality.

    Vinification and aging

Vinification of the Gevrey-Chambertin Village 2021 was carried out with rigorous grape sorting. Maceration lasted between 15 and 18 days. Aging took place over 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels, of which around 25 to 30% were new oak.

    Grape variety

    100% Pinot Noir.
