The Armand de Brignac NV Brut Rosé is an intense salmon-colored blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier and 10% Chardonnay sourced from the Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne and comprises the 2009, 2010 and 2012 vintages. The bouquet is intensely fruity yet clear, fine and well-defined. Full-bodied, round, vinous and elegant on the palate, this cuvée reveals a grippy mineral freshness and lingering structure. Persistent finish. Powerful yet pure. The cooler the better. Tasted from magnum, lot L107D8, in April 2018. The 750-milliliter bottle sells for $400.

A mouthwatering rosé Champagne, with a lively bead, this offers savory notes of slivered almond and fleur de sel along with layers of ripe raspberry and black cherry fruit, star anise and orange peel flavors. Delivers a lasting, vibrant finish. Drink now through 2022.

A confident copper blush and an immediately seductive nose of soft spice, red currants and sweet almond. The blend here is dominated by the Pinots, with 50% Noir and 40% Meunier leaving only a whisper of elegant Chardonnay. The three contributory vintages in question are 2013, 2014 and 2015—youthful, therefore—yet the wine does not lack for depth and complexity. A beguiling, almost savoury depth is immediately evident, due in no small part to the quality of the red wine, with 15% added as Pinot Noir from exceptionally old vines in the village of Ludes. Old vines and a young wine; wisdom, depth and youthful energy here make for a winning combination.

Complex, in a fresh red-fruit style, showing strawberries and singed bread. Tight-knit on the palate with crisp acidity and a light to medium body. Chalky minerals on the finish. Ambitious rosé. Drink now.

Blends of 2002, 2003 and 2005. 50% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier, 10% Chardonnay. 12% red Pinot Noir added. RS 9.65 g/l. Very sophisticated nose, dry and savoury fruit with very charming balance but precious little length and substance for the money. (RH)

Pouring a jeweled orange/pink color, the NV Champagne Brut Rosé is exuberant and fruity on the nose, with aromas of dark cherries, tangerine, crushed flowers, wet stone, and peach purée. The palate is similarly assertive, with its dark fruited profile shining through, and it has a pillowy mousse, a soft, rounded texture, and a warming finish. It would be wonderfully suited to pair with hard cheese and salumi. Drink over the coming 6-8 years.

Known for its pink-metallic bottle cover and signature “Ace of Spades” logo, this fresh-faced wine is crisp and zesty. The wine, with a pale salmon-pink color and lively mousse, is light and full of red-currant fruit that keeps it bright. Dry, young and fruity, it's made by the Cattier house for entrepreneur and rapper Jay Z. Drink now.

    Description

The power and aromatic brilliance of a Brut Rosé Champagne

    The estate

Heirs to 250 years of winemaking history, Jean-Jacques Cattier and his son, Alexandre, are the artisans behind the cuvées of the Champagne House Armand de Brignac. Designed by André Courrèges, the bottles of the estate’s cuvées stand out thanks to their bold design, remarkable proportions, and their iconic Ace of Spades engraved on a French pewter label.

Each day, only around twenty bottles are meticulously handcrafted, reflecting the estate’s artisanal approach.

    The vineyard

The Armand de Brignac cuvées are crafted from HVE 3-certified vineyards planted on prestigious crus of Champagne located within the Montagne de Reims (Rilly-la-Montagne, Chigny-les-Roses, Ludes).

    The wine

The Brut Rosé from Armand de Brignac is made from a selection of old vines, whose power and aromatic intensity bring liveliness, freshness, and indulgence to the tasting experience.

This modern luxury champagne is bottled in an opaque vessel covered with a layer of metal. The bottle is adorned with a French pewter label, meticulously applied by hand, showcasing the “Ace of Spades,” the brand’s iconic symbol.

The dosage of this champagne is 8.5 grams per liter.

    Vinification and aging

Manual harvesting. Only the Cuvée is kept for the making of this champagne to develop a soft texture and balanced acidity. At disgorgement, the addition of a liqueur de tirage made from the finest base wine of the harvest, aged for one year in French oak barrels, imparts savory complexity with pastry, toasted, and vanilla notes.

    Blend

Pinot Noir (50%) from old vines.
    Chardonnay (40%)
    Pinot Meunier (10%)

15% still red wine completes this multi-vintage blend.
