The elegance and balance of a vintage champagne by Drappier

    The estate

Founded in 1808, the House of Drappier is an essential reference in Champagne. Located in Urville, in the heart of the Côte des Bar, it is led by Michel Drappier, representing the eighth generation of the family. The estate is renowned for its attachment to Pinot Noir, the king grape of this terroir, and for its environmentally respectful approach. The House favors sustainable viticulture and a low-intervention winemaking style to let the full authenticity of its wines shine through.

    The vineyard

Millésime Exception 2019 comes from a vineyard rooted in Kimmeridgian limestone soil, characteristic of the Urville area. This unique terroir gives the wines remarkable minerality and finesse. The vines are carefully cultivated, without chemical weedkillers, thereby promoting biodiversity and soil health.

    The vintage

The year 2019 in Champagne was marked by a hot, dry summer, providing ideal conditions for grape ripening. The harvest yielded healthy, concentrated and perfectly balanced fruit, promising wines of great aromatic richness and fine structure.

    Winemaking and aging

For this cuvée, only first-press juices are used. Winemaking is carried out with great precision: 50% of the wines are aged in oak barrels for one year, adding complexity and roundness. The wine is not filtered in order to preserve all its substance and integrity. The dosage is low, at 5.6 g/L, to highlight the purity of the fruit.

    Blend

    Pinot noir (60%)
    Chardonnay (40%).
