Description
A multi-varietal innovation from the Egly-Ouriet estate
The estate
A key name in Champagne, Francis Egly carries on the pursuit of excellence at this family estate, founded after the Second World War.
Covering just over 15 hectares, the vineyard of Maison Egly-Ouriet lies on Grands Crus (Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzenay) and one Premier Cru (Vrigny), with vines that are 40 to 60 years old on average.
Made predominantly from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, Egly-Ouriet Champagnes are the result of rigorous massal selection and meticulous care in both the vineyard and the cellar. They are a perfect expression of Champagne's great terroirs, with rare elegance and precision.
The wine
Launched in September 2020, Les Prémices is a new cuvée made from grapes grown in the Champagne village of Trigny, in the Massif de Saint-Thierry.
Vinification and ageing
Made from the 2016 harvest, Egly-Ouriet's Brut Les Prémices was bottled in 2017 and has a dosage of 2 g/l.
Blend
This Brut Les Prémices from Maison Egly-Ouriet is a blend of equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
