The estate
Founded in 1919 by Alfred Minière, the Minière F&R House is now run by Frédéric and Rodolphe Minière, representatives of the fourth generation. Based in Hermonville, at the gateway to the Montagne de Reims, the estate farms around 8 hectares of organically grown vines. Trained alongside Anselme Selosse, Frédéric introduced barrel aging and organic viticulture. Minière F&R Champagne remains the only récoltant manipulant in Hermonville, cultivating a distinctive terroir without chalk.
The vineyard
"La Vigne à Alfred" comes from a historic 26.70-are parcel located in the lieu-dit Les Voirmissa in Hermonville, in Champagne. Planted in 1947 by Alfred, this vineyard lies on a silty-clay soil that gives the wine its signature structure and minerality. Pinot Meunier finds ideal conditions here to express its full aromatic complexity.
The vintage
The 2019 vintage in Champagne benefited from favorable weather conditions, allowing optimal grape ripening. This year produced balanced wines combining freshness with aromatic concentration.
Vinification and aging
La Vigne à Alfred Blanc de Noirs 2019 is vinified in old oak barrels over 8 years of age with indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally, almost systematically. The wine then undergoes 8 months of aging in barrels with bâtonnage, followed by 5 years of bottle aging on slats. After disgorgement in June 2025, the champagne rests for a further year before release. This cuvée is unfiltered and was bottled in June 2020 in special bottles.
