    The estate

Founded in 1720 by Edme Champy, a cooper from Beaune, Maison Champy is the oldest négociant house in Burgundy. Taken over in 1990 by the Meurgey family and technically overseen by winemaker Dimitri Bazas, it cultivates 21 hectares across the Côte de Beaune. A pioneer of organic farming in Burgundy, Champy converted its vineyards to biodynamic practices as early as 2007. Its listed historic buildings bear witness to a remarkable collaboration with Louis Pasteur in the 19th century.

    The vineyard

The "Aux Cras" climat is located on the left flank of the Montagne de Beaune, at an altitude of 250 metres. Benefiting from a particularly favourable east-southeast exposure, this Premier Cru terroir allows Pinot Noir to fully express itself and reveal the true character of the Beaune appellation.

    Winemaking and aging

The Beaune 1er cru "Aux Cras" 2000 was crafted using traditional Burgundian methods, allowing Pinot Noir to authentically express the characteristics of this exceptional terroir.
