    Decanter

Juicy and clean, a nicely presented wine with balanced gentle juiciness and a fruit profile of delicate cherries, strawberries, and raspberries. Feels well made with a subtle charm. Not trying too hard, but great for easy drinking with lingering fruitiness and not dry on the finish. A success.

Plenty of impact from blueberry and raspberry coulis on the nose, grilled almonds, sweet berry fruits, enjoyable but soft through the finish. There is unfussy charm here. Certified organic. One point upscore.

    The Wine Independent

    Lisa Perrotti-Brown

A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, the 2021 Canon Pecresse is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It slowly emerges from the glass with notions of tar, dried sage, and damp soil, with a core of blackberries and black cherries. The medium-bodied palate delivers a great core of bright, expressive fruit, with earthy accents and plush tannins, finishing with an invigorating lift.

    La RVF

A fine success in a vintage that can tend toward slimness. Naturally, this isn’t the most concentrated or deepest vintage of Canon-Pécresse, but it shows lovely mineral depth, a sleek balance, and a mouthwatering length framed by fine tannins. A lovely wine for the next ten years.

    Le Figaro Vin

Very intense nose, with black and blue fruits. The powerful character is softened by freshness, like a breeze caressing the nape of the neck. On the palate, this wine is juicy, harmonious and captivating, almost soothing. You immediately want more.

    Yves Beck

Canon Pécresse reveals itself with delicate finesse, offering notes of black berries and licorice. Supported by fine-grained tannins, the wine has good body. It is harmonious, linear, and endowed with a refreshing structure. It deserves a little time to open up, allowing the finish to round out slightly.

    Vertdevin

The nose is fruity, offering fine complexity and good definition. The wine benefits from decanting. It reveals notes of wild blackberry, camphor and, more subtly, clove, alongside touches of ripe small red berries and delicate hints of gray pepper. The palate is fresh, mineral and silky, with roundness, good definition, a certain elegance and a tangy acidic backbone. On the palate, the wine expresses notes of juicy, fleshy blackberry and juicy, fleshy cherry, with subtler nuances of small blue fruits, along with touches of tangy raspberry and hints of nutmeg and blond tobacco. Good length. A subtle almond note on the finish. The tannins are fresh and supple.
