    Description

A rich and elegant Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

    The estate

To the east of Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux’s Right Bank, Château de Pressac dominates the commune of Saint-Étienne de Lisse. Having seen the surrender of the Hundred Years' War, Château de Pressac is a veritable historical and winegrowing stronghold of the region. Since 1997, the Quenin family has had the honour of managing the vineyards and estate of Pressac. Thanks to their philosophy of excellence and their passion for this exceptional terroir, they raised Château de Pressac to the rank of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé in 2012.

    The vineyard

In the heart of Saint-Émilion, the vineyard of just over 36 hectares is cultivated according to the principles of sustainable agriculture on a limestone plateau overlooking the Dordogne.

    Winemaking and ageing

Hand-picked in crates, the grapes are sorted twice before being gravity-fed into vats. Vinification by gentle pumping over and/or delestage. Vatting for 19 to 24 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place partly in new barrels. The wine is aged for 16 to 18 months, 95% in barrels (50% of which are new) and 5% in amphorae.

    Blend

Château de Pressac 2022 is a blend of Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (17%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%), Carménère (1.5%), Malbec (1%) and Petit Verdot (0.5%).
