plenty of oak, herbal tannins; otherwise fairly smooth and not lacking in body.

Bramble tones, lovely herbal raspberries and black cherries and milk chocolate—fragrant and scented. Taut and streamlined on the palate, succulent and supple, a lovely purity with crystalline fruit and grippy tannins softly edged with dark chocolate, all very round and nicely weighted on the tongue. Excellent energy yet still with depth; this is approachable and really enjoyable.

Aromas and flavors of tobacco, redcurrants and rust follow through to a medium body with fine tannins and a fresh finish. Minerally. Second wine of Duhart-Milon. Drink or hold.

53% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon. Cask sample. Supple and round with a light but fine structure. Doesn’t push the boundary but has appealing fruit and enough grip to lend a serious edge. (JL)

The 2020 Moulin de Duhart is matured in two-year-old oak barrels for 12 months. It contains a little less Cabernet Sauvignon than usual. It has a clean, pure nose with dark cherries, cranberry and pomegranate, and an underlying tobacco scent that remains politely in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a powdery-textured entry, quite pliant in the mouth, a healthy sprinkling of white pepper and a caressing, graphite-tinged finish. Give it a couple of years in bottle.

Pure, medium-bodied, stylish Pauillac with digest dark fruit, a refreshing tannic backbone, rounded without opulence, classic in a pure yet ripe style.

While I don't find 2020 to be a particularly great vintage for second wines, the 2020 Moulin De Duhart is nevertheless a beauty with loads to love. Ripe cherries, currants, tobacco, and sandalwood all define the nose, and it's medium-bodied, with a supple, elegant mouthfeel, light yet present tannins, and outstanding length. You can drink this totally charming, rock-solid Pauillac any time over the coming 10-15 years.

(53% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon) Silky, fine, delicately mineral bouquet, black berries, currants, liquorice. Powerful, fruity palate with sweet, dark fruit, good slightly firm tannins, intense aromatics, generous structure, long finish. Still has room to improve. 16/20 2024 - 2035

This is a great Moulin, an easy expression of blackberry, mocha and smoke. Enjoyable and approachable Pauillac character, quite different in feel to the main estate wine, with a kick of appealing autumnal fruit and a juiciness reflective of its cool terroir and young vines.

The 2020 Moulin de Duhart is made from 53% Merlot and 47% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple in color, it skips out of the glass with eager-to-go scents of crushed black and red plums, wild blueberries, and mulberries, with suggestions of spice cake and chocolate box. The medium-bodied palate is soft and uncomplicated, with easy-going, pure fruits and a spicy kick to the finish.

Le Figaro Vin
Lifted, pleasant, fresh and tempting, with sweet small red berries. Fine, suave, elegant and classic. Lots of precision (no doubt thanks to the new cuvier, used for the first time this year) and a caressing texture.

Beautiful fruity intensity complemented by notes of black pepper. With a gourmand character, the wine is elegant, balanced, and can be enjoyed in its youth, while also offering respectable ageing potential. A rich, harmonious, and accomplished wine.

The nose is fresh, elegant and offers a certain delicacy, a lovely racy minerality, beautiful freshness, power and pure fruit. It reveals notes of vibrant wild blackcurrant, boysenberry and, more lightly, strawberry, combined with small touches of bright red berries/bright cherry, as well as hints of vanilla, toasted notes and discreet touches of vanilla. The palate is fruity and airy, offering juiciness, freshness, indulgence, a fine/delicate grain, a zesty backbone and tension. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, tangy blackcurrant and, more slightly, bright redcurrant, combined with touches of fresh cherry, pulpy/juicy purple plum, as well as fine hints of chocolate, toast, caramelization and toasted almond.
