Château Lynch-Moussas 2024

Dense ruby red, subtle aroma, fine roasted notes, cola, dark fruit, stony nuances; racy and fresh on the palate, straightforward, firm, fine but not particularly pronounced tannins, lively acidity, the fruit is perfectly ripe, saline finish. Enjoy young for its fruit.

Ripe and concentrated blackcurrant aromas on the nose - lifted scents. Bright acidity meets quite dry tannins, still quite compact and feels a little pushed. There’s purity of fruit and cooling minuteness but the tannins are doing all the talking and distract with clove, tobacco and dark chocolate. Quite mineral too. This is sculpted but on the razor sharp edge. Not so charming right now, more serious. This will need some more time to integrate. Ageing 58% new barrels.

78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot. Cask sample. Fresh with a leafy edge. Round on the attack, then it firms up on the finish. Assertive structure. Some potential. (JL)

Cedar, cigar wrapper, and blackcurrant, with red currants, are already starting to shine in this medium-bodied, soft, expressive, vibrant, chewy charmer. The refreshing touch of mint leaf on the finish adds nice complexity. The wine blends 78% Cabernet Sauvignon with 22% Merlot. 13.5% ABV. Drink from 2027–2045. 90–92 pts
