    Description

The refinement and liveliness of a Saint-Émilion wine

    The estate
Founded in 1998 in homage to Pierre-Bernard Guisez, the Château Péby Faugères, whose history dates back to 1619, is now owned by Swiss businessman Silvio Denz, who acquired it in 2005. Under his direction, the estate has achieved international acclaim, notably with the 2005 vintage rated 100/100 by Robert Parker. This estate stands out for its rigorous quality-focused approach and the unique blend of art and wine cultivated by its owner.

    The vineyard
Located on the clay-limestone slopes of Saint-Émilion, the vineyard of Château Péby Faugères benefits from an exceptional terroir that imparts the wine with its distinctive character. Spanning 6.94 hectares, this vineyard is cultivated with meticulous care, yielding limited production of 25.5 hectoliters per hectare, ensuring optimal grape concentration.

    The vintage
The 2024 vintage was marked by particularly challenging weather conditions, with unpredictable weather and high humidity. This situation necessitated rigorous vineyard management and the establishment of a precise harvest schedule.

    Winemaking and aging
Maceration lasts 30 days in concrete vats, stainless steel tanks and barrels for the entire vinification. Aging continues for 12 to 14 months, with 50% new French oak barrels and 50% once-used barrels, providing structure and complexity to the wine while preserving the fruit.

    Grape variety
This 2024 Château Peby Faugères is 100% Merlot.
