Characteristics and Tasting Tips for Clos des Lunes "Lune d'Argent" Édition Numérotée 2025
Tasting
Nose
The nose is full of energy and freshness, driven by a bouquet of white flowers (acacia, elderflower, honeysuckle) intermingled with notes of pear and a hint of citrus. This floral and fruity dimension comes with touches of white peach and aniseed, as well as a fresh lemony character reminiscent of apple blossom and orange zest.
Palate
The palate is characterised by a fresh, saline softness, bringing great charm and a truly gastronomic suavity. Medium-bodied, it is juicy and round, with flavours of pear and melon on the attack, within an elegant, well-balanced whole with a supple, harmonious texture.
Food and Wine Pairing
Clos des Lunes "Lune d'Argent" Édition Numérotée 2025 is ideally paired with seafood, shellfish and fine fish dishes, whose delicacy it highlights thanks to its saline freshness.
Serving and Ageing
We recommend serving Clos des Lunes "Lune d'Argent" Édition Numérotée 2025 chilled, between 8 and 10°C, to preserve all the aromatic freshness and balance of this white wine.
Clos des Lunes, a Dry White Bordeaux Born on the Lands of Sauternes
The Estate
Created in 2012 with the release of its first vintage, Clos des Lunes is an estate in Sauternes, in Bordeaux, born from the vision of Olivier Bernard, also owner of Domaine de Chevalier, to produce a great dry white wine on land historically devoted to sweet wines. Today, his son Hugo Bernard runs the estate. The estate lies between the historic crus of Yquem and Guiraud, and benefits from the technical expertise of Domaine de Chevalier.
The Vineyard
This Bordeaux Blancs Secs comes from a 65-hectare rolling vineyard, planted on a mosaic of Sauternes terroirs combining deep gravels, clay-limestone soils and alluvial deposits of the Garonne. The vines, around 35 years old, are predominantly Sémillon, complemented by Sauvignon Blanc, and are hand-harvested into small crates, in successive passes according to ripeness.
The Vintage
The 2025 harvest took place from 21 August to 19 September, with a particularly restrained yield of 30 hectolitres per hectare, reflecting a pursuit of concentration in the grapes harvested.
Winemaking and Ageing
Clos des Lunes "Lune d'Argent" Édition Numérotée 2025 is crafted from carefully sorted grapes, pressed slowly without destemming or maceration. Settling takes place naturally by gravity in a cold room, followed by 6 to 7 months of ageing split between barriques (25%) and tanks (75%), with regular lees stirring to bring roundness and complexity.
Grape Varieties
The blend is made up of 70% Sémillon and 30% Sauvignon Blanc.
