An aromatic and subtle white wine from Abbatucci

The estate
Located at an altitude of over 100 metres, Comte Abbatucci traces its origins back more than a century. Through its cuvées, it pays tribute to its illustrious family figures (a General of the French Revolution, a diplomat, a minister under the reign of Napoleon III), whose destinies have left a mark on the family's history. Keen to preserve this exceptional island terroir, the estate cultivates indigenous grape varieties that give its wines a unique character. Since 2000, the entire vineyard has been farmed biodynamically, in order to showcase the characteristics of a unique Corsican terroir while preserving an exceptional natural environment.

The vineyard
Produced as a Vin de France, the Diplomate d'Empire 2015 cuvée from Domaine Abbatucci comes from a vineyard facing north to north-east, with vines growing on granitic to sandy-loam soils.

Vinification and maturation
Harvested by hand, the grapes are rigorously sorted in the vineyard and again in the cellar, before being directly pressed as whole clusters. After 24 to 48 hours of static settling, alcoholic fermentation takes place in 600-litre demi-muids.
Lasting 9 months, maturation on the full lees is followed by a further 2 months in tank after the blending of the best lots.
A final maturation in bottle of at least 6 months follows bottling, which is carried out with light filtration if necessary.

Blend
Abbatucci's Diplomate d'Empire 2015 is made from a blend of Vermentino, Brustiano, Bianco Gentile, Genovese and Rossola Bianca.

Appearance
The colour is a beautiful pale yellow.
Nose
The nose combines aromas of very ripe yellow fruits and exotic fruits with subtle fragrances of maquis scrub.
Palate
The palate captivates with its freshness, which gives this wine a delicious power and a rare length on the finish.
