    Decanter

Pure blackcurrant aromas on the nose, smells really clean and pristine. Succulent and sapid, this is fresh and lively with a real zingy, mouthwatering kick – almost citric with cranberry and raspberry juice. Lovely licks of stone as well as bitter dark chocolate and clove spice from the oak on the finish. A touch lean and straight still, more spiced at the end but good promise. Ageing 12 months, 30% new oak. 30% second wine.

Flowers, mint, cherries, strawberry, and black raspberries fill the aromatic profile. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh, lively, and filled with sweet, cherries, topped with just a hint of chocolate, and zesty spices that carry through to the soft finish. You can enjoy this with pleasure in its youth, for all its fruits, and freshness. The wine blends 74.8% Merlot, and 75.2% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2028-2036. 91-93 Pts

Nuances of fresh wood come through on the nose, but they are not dominant; they support the other elements such as red berries and spices. Slightly creamy on the attack, the wine is well framed by tannins that provide breadth and vigor. A savory, structured wine.

A beautiful deep, intense red with purplish highlights. A highly aromatic nose, with ripe, subtle fruit, developing notes of vanilla, blackberries and violet when the glass is swirled. Precise on the attack, silky on the mid-palate, with a classy texture and a refined flavour, the wine melts across the palate—juicy, long, precise and quite hard to spit out. Very fine aromatic persistence with hints of cachou and fruit. It’s very good. Blend: 74.8% Merlot, 25.2% Cabernet Franc. Alcohol: 13.85% - pH: 3.5 - IPT: 63.3. Yield: 29 hl/ha.

The fruitiness and persistence of a Saint-Émilion second wine

    The estate

Château Quintus, perched on a promontory in Saint-Émilion, on the right bank of Bordeaux, was acquired by Domaine Clarence Dillon in 2011. Formerly known as Château Tertre Daugay, the estate spans 16 hectares of diverse terroirs, expanded by the acquisition of Château L'Arrosée in 2013. Château Quintus represents the fifth acquisition by the Domaine Clarence Dillon group, joining the illustrious Châteaux Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion. Its name is inspired by the Gallo-Roman tradition of naming the fifth child Quintus.

    The vineyard

The Château Quintus vineyard enjoys a remarkable location on a limestone promontory in Saint-Émilion. This prime position ensures optimal sun exposure and ideal natural drainage conditions for the vines.
