    Decanter

Clarity on the nose, summer red berries with bramble touches, nicely aromatic. Succulent and juicy, this is lightly framed with quite a direct flavour – the slightly sour, slightly bitter notes coming through with high acidity give the strawberry and red cherry flavours a high tone alongside eucalyptus and cool mint as well as soft cinnamon and clove. Super long finish with a nice overall balance. An easy-drinking wine but still with nuance and complexity in terms of flavour detail. Needs time to round out and become more expansive. Right now, quite linear and driven on the palate.

Aromas of blueberries and sandalwood with hints of bark. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and salty clove undertones. Bright and vivid with a crunchy finish. 82.7% merlot, 14.5% cabernet franc and 2.8% malbec. Better in two or three years but already fresh and energetic.

Tasted blind. Paler than most. Light, fruity and very distinctive. Not fighting the vintage. Some follow-through. Not very Bordeaux but more fun to drink than most of its peers. (JR)

Medium-bodied, forward, elegant, and fresh, with a core of ripe, soft-textured cherries and plums, and a touch of licorice on the nose and palate, this is ready for early drinking. Drink from 2024-2033.

Le Dragon de Quintus 2021 is medium garnet-purple in color. It reveals a nose of red plums and kirsch, plus suggestions of tilled soil, charcoal, and black olives. Medium-bodied, the palate is light on its feet, with a lively line and soft tannins to frame the delicate red fruit flavors, finishing savory.

    Le Figaro Vin

Black fruits on the nose (black cherry), rosemary stem, fine wood. Serious and satisfying on the palate, with pronounced fruit and velvety tannins. Sophisticated.

    Jean-Marc Quarin

Dark, deep colour. Intense nose with pure, ripe fruit, even with a subtle edge. A beautifully effective hint of ink on the Right Bank. Soft on the attack, a touch easy-going on the mid-palate yet very fragrant, the wine caresses the palate with flavours of ripe fruit and blackberry jelly. Lovely length, more aromatic than weighty.
