A complex and refined red wine from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, signature of the Rhône Valley

    The property
Founded in 1946 in Ampuis by Étienne Guigal, the E. Guigal house is an essential reference in the Rhône Valley. His son Marcel took over in 1961, before passing on to the third generation, still driven by respect for family know-how. The estate is now recognized for its quality requirements and its anchorage in the greatest Rhone appellations.
In 1995, E. Guigal stood out by acquiring the Château d’Ampuis, a jewel of the wine heritage, then by integrating other renowned properties such as Jean-Louis Grippat, the Domaine de Vallouit or the Château de Nalys, in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

    The vineyard
This cuvée comes from plots located on typical soils of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation: a mix of rolled pebbles and red clays. These terroirs, emblematic of the southern Rhône Valley, give the wine richness, depth and a unique character.

    Vinification and aging
The grapes are vinified according to traditional methods, with a long maceration of about four weeks. The aging extends over 36 months in foudres, favoring a perfect integration of the tannins and a great aromatic complexity.

    Blend

Old grenache, mourvèdre, syrah and other grape varieties.
