Flor de Caña, a Nicaraguan family distillery since 1890
Founded in 1890 by Francisco Alfredo Pellas Canessa, Flor de Caña has embodied the excellence of Nicaraguan rum for over 130 years. Established in Chichigalpa, at the foot of the San Cristóbal volcano since 1937, the distillery remains owned by the Pellas family, now in its fifth generation. This pioneering house stands out for its outstanding environmental commitment: 100% renewable production, natural aging with no additives, and Fair Trade certification, a world first for a rum. Flor de Caña 14 Years Old Single Estate is a rum aged for 14 years in the aging warehouses of the estate located near Chichigalpa, in Nicaragua. This cuvée benefits from maturation in small 180-liter white oak barrels used only once before aging, allowing for optimal maturation.
This exclusive release for the French market showcases the distillery’s expertise in Single Estate rum. Produced using 100% renewable energy and Fair Trade certified, this rum embodies the brand’s environmental and social values. Named “Rum Producer of the Year” at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London in 2017, Flor de Caña confirms with this cuvée its position among Latin America’s finest houses, backed by more than 100 international awards since 2000.
