    Description

Characteristics and Tasting Notes for the Savigny-Les-Beaune Village 2024 Jean Chartron

    Tasting

    Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with dominant citrus notes, revealing seductive aromas of orange zest and lemon curd.

    Palate
On the palate, this white wine reveals a fine, structured minerality, supported by the lively acidity typical of its climate. A textural complexity, bringing a certain creamy richness, perfectly balances the whole to deliver an elegant tasting experience.

    Food and Wine Pairing
This white wine pairs wonderfully with a wide variety of dishes. It will elevate seafood such as oysters, scallops or lobster, as well as fish prepared with a butter and lemon sauce. It also pairs perfectly with creamy poultry dishes, egg-based dishes, green vegetables such as asparagus, or light pasta and risottos.

    Service and Storage
This Savigny-Les-Beaune Village 2024 can be enjoyed while young, but it also has fine ageing potential, allowing it to evolve favourably in the bottle until around 2032.

The Elegance and Minerality of a White Wine from Savigny-Les-Beaune

    The Estate
Founded in 1859 by Jean-Édouard Dupard, a master cooper, Domaine Jean Chartron is a historic figure in Burgundy, located in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet. Today, the estate is run by the fifth generation, represented by Jean-Michel Chartron, who was recently made a Chevalier du Mérite Agricole. The estate tends a vineyard of approximately 14.5 hectares spread across the prestigious terroirs of the Côte de Beaune. Renowned for its expertise in producing white wines and its commitment to sustainable farming practices, the estate strives to express the full individuality of its plots.

    The Vineyard
The Savigny-Les-Beaune appellation is located in the Côte de Beaune, north of the eponymous town, and stands out for the rarity of its white wines, which account for only a tiny fraction of local production. The vines flourish at altitudes ranging from 220 to 360 metres. The terroir is characterised by great geological diversity, combining low-fertility chalky soils, gravel, stones, as well as limestone and clay soils. The presence of the Rhoin river also influences this vineyard, providing favourable conditions for producing fruity, supple wines.

    The Vintage
The year 2024 was marked by unpredictable weather in Burgundy, resulting in a significant drop in yields. However, a particularly sunny September allowed the surviving grapes to reach optimal phenolic ripeness, ensuring a fine balance between sugar, acidity and aromatic development.

    Winemaking and Aging
The making of this Savigny-Les-Beaune Village 2024 begins with direct pressing of the grapes, followed by settling in tank. Fermentation is then completed in wooden vessels. True to Burgundian tradition, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for eleven to eighteen months, lending the cuvée a subtle complexity.

    Grape Variety
    100% Chardonnay.
