    Description

Tasting notes and characteristics of Louis Jadot's Bourgogne Blanc "Couvent des Jacobins" 2024

    Tasting

    Appearance
The wine reveals a bright yellow hue, enhanced by delicate green highlights.

    Nose
The aromatic bouquet unfolds with a beautiful fruity expression, complemented by subtle spicy notes and an oakiness of great elegance.

    Palate
This dry white wine offers a fresh attack that evolves into a smooth, round and harmonious texture. The balance between the liveliness of the fruit and the delicacy of the ageing gives the whole a very pleasant mouthfeel.

    Food and wine pairings

This wine pairs wonderfully with grilled white fish, seafood such as scallops, or poultry in cream sauce. It also complements cooked pressed cheeses such as Comté, as well as young goat cheeses. It can equally be enjoyed as an aperitif with seafood terrines.

    Serving and cellaring

To fully appreciate the Bourgogne Blanc "Couvent des Jacobins" 2024, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 10 and 12°C. Accessible from its youth, it can be enjoyed now or cellared until approximately 2029.

The elegance and freshness of a white wine from Burgundy

    The estate

Founded in 1859 in the heart of Beaune, the Maison Louis Jadot is a true institution in Burgundy. Now owned by the Kopf family and chaired by Pierre-Henri Gagey, it shines around the world while maintaining deep local roots. With a vast vineyard spanning the region's finest appellations, the estate stands out for its strong environmental commitment and the ownership of its own cooperage. Blending tradition with international openness, it crafts authentic wines that faithfully reflect the diversity and richness of Burgundy's terroirs.

    The vineyard

The grapes for this Bourgogne cuvée come mainly from two terroirs renowned for the quality of their white wines: the Côte Chalonnaise, which brings liveliness and freshness, and the Mâconnais, known for producing generous, ripe berries.

    Winemaking and ageing

The Bourgogne Blanc "Couvent des Jacobins" 2024 is crafted in a winery specifically dedicated to it in Givry. Following a traditional vinification, the wine benefits from an ageing period of eight to ten months. This takes place partly in stainless steel tanks to preserve the purity of the fruit, and partly in oak barrels made by the estate's in-house cooperage, thereby lending a subtle complexity before the final blending.
