    Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of the 2023 Bourgogne Côte d'Or by Louis Jadot

    Tasting

    Appearance
The wine reveals a bright ruby red hue, with a moderate to deep intensity, while retaining a beautiful clarity.

    Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens on expressive notes of fresh red fruits such as cherry, raspberry and strawberry. It is enriched with delicate floral nuances reminiscent of violet and peony, along with subtle spicy touches and discreet vanilla accents.

    Palate
Balanced and supple, the palate offers a silky texture carried by tannins of great finesse. A refreshing acidity enlivens the palate through to a lingering finish, marked by notes of red fruits and sweet spices.

    Food and wine pairings

This red wine pairs wonderfully with traditional dishes such as beef bourguignon, roast poultry or regional charcuterie. It also goes very well with duck breast, grilled meats or moderately spiced Asian dishes.

    Serving and cellaring

For an optimal tasting of this 2023 Bourgogne Côte d'Or, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 14 and 16°C, ideally in glasses suited to the wines of the region. Light aeration of half an hour to an hour before serving will allow it to fully release its aromas.

The authentic expression of a Côte d'Or Pinot Noir by Maison Louis Jadot

    The estate

Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, Maison Louis Jadot is a historic institution based in Beaune, at the heart of Burgundy, in France. Now led by Thomas Seiter and owned by the American Kopf family, the estate cultivates a vast vineyard of 125 hectares. Renowned for its uncompromising commitment to quality and its dedication to faithfully expressing the identity of each terroir, the house enjoys international recognition while preserving traditional Burgundian know-how.

    The vineyard

The grapes for this cuvée come exclusively from plots located on the prestigious Côte d'Or terroir. This geographical area, which encompasses the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, offers ideal conditions for growing fruit of great quality, reflecting all the typicity of the Bourgogne appellation.

    Winemaking and aging

The making of the 2023 Bourgogne Côte d'Or relies on classic methods. After fermentations in vats accompanied by gentle extractions to preserve the finesse of the material, the wine benefits from a carefully managed aging in oak barrels. The moderate use of new wood, sourced notably from the house's own cooperage, allows the fruit to be enhanced without being masked.
