The estate
The Maison Louis Jadot, established in 1859, is a true benchmark in Bourgogne. Its journey began with the acquisition of the Beaune Premier Cru "Clos des Ursules" in 1826. As owner of prestigious vineyard plots, Maison Louis Jadot perpetuates a savoir-faire passed down from generation to generation, offering enthusiasts the best of Bourgogne.
Pierre-Henry Gagey, who had headed Maison Louis Jadot since 1992, handed over his role to Thomas Seiter (Bouchard Père et Fils) and appointed his son, Thibault Gagey, as General Manager in September 2022.
The vineyard
The 1er Cru "Morgeot" is a wine from Chassagne-Montrachet produced from a vineyard of just under 0.5 ha located in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune. Facing east and southeast, this exceptional terroir rests on clay-limestone soil.
Winemaking and aging
Hand-harvested, the grapes undergo gentle pressing before fermentation in barrels (one third of which are new) from the estate's cooperage. Aged on fine lees for approximately 15 months.
Grape variety
Chardonnay (100%).
