The Excellence of Burgundy by Maison Louis Jadot
The estate
Officially founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, Maison Louis Jadot is a true institution in France and in Burgundy. Based in Beaune, it shines around the world while remaining faithful to its roots. Today led by Thomas Seiter, the estate oversees a vast domain of approximately 125 hectares. Renowned for its ability to express the diversity and authenticity of Burgundian terroirs, the house also stands out for its strong environmental commitments, documented in its own ecological manifesto.
The vineyard
The cuvée comes from the Mâcon-Lugny appellation, located in the southern part of the region. More specifically, the vines grow on the "Le Bouchet" lieu-dit, in the heart of the Mâconnais. This specific terroir is characterised by particularly stony and limestone soils, offering excellent natural drainage and promoting optimal ripening of the grapes while preserving their mineral tension.
The vintage
The 2024 vintage stands out for its warm and early weather conditions. A slight water deficit marked the growing cycle, leading to lower yields at harvest. However, this relative drought made it possible to obtain smaller and particularly concentrated berries.
Vinification and ageing
In order to preserve all the freshness and aromatic purity of the fruit, Mâcon-Lugny "Le Bouchet" 2024 is exclusively vinified and aged in stainless steel tanks. The complete absence of oak barrels during winemaking helps highlight the natural vivacity and mineral identity of this terroir.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay
