    Description

Characteristics and Tasting Notes for the Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes" 2024 by Louis Jadot

    Tasting

    Colour
This white wine displays a delicate pale golden hue with moderate, luminous intensity.

    Nose
The aromatic bouquet is complex and refined, dominated by scents of ripe stone fruits such as peach and apricot, combined with notes of hazelnut and almond. Subtle hints of brioche, toasted bread, vanilla and butter, derived from barrel aging, blend harmoniously with delicate mineral and chalky nuances.

    Palate
Generous and full-bodied, the palate offers a velvety, creamy texture. The perfectly integrated acidity provides a lovely tension that balances the natural richness of this white wine. The remarkably long finish lingers on persistent notes of hazelnut, butter and minerality.

    Food and Wine Pairing
This white wine pairs wonderfully with poultry dishes in rich sauces, such as chicken or turkey. It also enhances seafood, particularly lobster and scallops, as well as delicate fish. Gastronomic tradition pairs it ideally with blanquette de veau, pike quenelles or dishes featuring morel mushrooms. Finally, it perfectly complements aged hard cheeses such as Comté or Gruyère.

    Service and Storage
The Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes" 2024 can be enjoyed at its best from around 2026, and has the cellaring potential to be kept until around 2040.

The Authentic Expression of a White Wine from Meursault

    The Estate
Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, the House of Louis Jadot is an essential institution in Burgundy, with roots dating back to the acquisition of a plot as early as 1826. Based in Beaune, it manages an extensive estate of approximately 230 hectares spread across the region. Owned by the American Kopf family since 1985, the estate is now led by Thomas Seiter. Combining the roles of grower and négociant, Louis Jadot stands out for its ability to express the full diversity of Burgundian terroirs, while firmly committing to certified organic viticulture.

    The Vineyard
Located south of Beaune, on the renowned Côte des Blancs, the Meursault vineyard extends over east-facing slopes at altitudes ranging from 230 to 360 metres. The "Les Charmes" climat is recognised as one of the most emblematic terroirs of the appellation. Its well-drained soils, composed of a mixture of Jurassic limestone, marl and clay, offer ideal conditions for grape growing, giving the wines a unique mineral signature.

    Winemaking and Aging
The production of the Meursault 1er Cru "Les Charmes" 2024 relies on meticulous winemaking techniques designed to limit oxidation and preserve the purity of the fruit. The wine then undergoes extended aging in French oak barrels, which gives it its structure and aromatic complexity.

    Grape Variety
This wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay.
