    Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of the Meursault Village "Chevalières" 2024 by Louis Jadot

    Tasting

    Appearance
Clear and bright, this wine reveals a lovely pale yellow to golden yellow hue, adorned with subtle green highlights in its youth.

    Nose
The aromatic bouquet proves complex, blending aromas of white-fleshed fruits such as apple and pear with notes of fresh citrus. Indulgent touches of butter, hazelnut, brioche and vanilla weave harmoniously with a mineral thread evoking chalk and gun flint.

    Palate
The attack is fresh and lively, opening onto an ample structure and a delicately creamy texture. The well-controlled acidity brings a beautiful tension that balances the wine's richness. The finish, of remarkable length, extends over mineral, citrus and hazelnut notes.

    Food and wine pairings

This white wine pairs wonderfully with noble shellfish such as pan-seared scallops or lobster with beurre blanc. It will also enhance delicate fish such as turbot, white meats in cream and mushroom sauce, or aged cheeses such as a Comté aged 12 to 18 months.

    Serving and cellaring

Endowed with excellent ageing potential, this Meursault Village "Chevalières" 2024 can be kept in the cellar and enjoyed until approximately 2039.

A great white Burgundy wine crafted by Louis Jadot

    The estate

Officially founded in 1859 in Beaune by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, the Louis Jadot House is a true institution in Burgundy. Its family winemaking roots, however, date back to the early 19th century. Owned by the American Kopf family since 1985, the estate has preserved its strong regional identity. Today, under the leadership of Pierre-Henry Gagey and technical director Frédéric Barnier, this illustrious House cultivates a vast vineyard spanning several hundred hectares. Renowned worldwide, it stands out for its own cooperage, its growing commitment to organic farming and its determination to let each terroir express its uniqueness.

    The vineyard

This Meursault comes from the "Les Chevalières" lieu-dit, ideally situated mid-slope at an altitude ranging between 250 and 280 metres. Facing due east, the old vines of over fifty years thrive on lean limestone soils. This geological and topographical configuration, combined with a rigorous and environmentally respectful cultivation approach, yields grapes of great concentration, giving the wines remarkable tension and minerality.

    Winemaking and ageing

The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates to preserve the integrity of the berries. In the cellar, a gentle pressing is carried out, followed by settling. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels, of which approximately one third are new, crafted by the House's own cooperage. Finally, the wine benefits from a meticulous ageing on fine lees for around fifteen months, giving it its ample texture and aromatic complexity.
