    Description

Characteristics and Tasting Notes of the Pouilly-Fuissé "Village" 2023 by Louis Jadot

    Tasting

    Appearance
The wine reveals a beautiful golden hue, enhanced by delicate emerald reflections.

    Nose
The aromatic bouquet is complex, offering notes of citrus fruits such as lemon and grapefruit, combined with yellow-fleshed fruits like peach. The whole is enriched by subtle hints of white flowers, minerality, as well as nuances of toasted almonds and hazelnut.

    Palate
Ample and harmonious, the palate seduces with its freshness and slightly creamy texture. It unfolds delicious notes of ripe fruits and subtle toasted hints, extending towards a lingering finish marked by citrus and gentle spices.

    Food and wine pairings

This white wine pairs wonderfully with fine fish in beurre blanc sauce, pan-seared scallops or a seafood risotto. It will also elevate roast poultry with cream sauce, refined vegetarian dishes or aged hard cheeses such as Comté.

    Serving and cellaring

Ideal to enjoy now to appreciate its freshness, this 2023 vintage also possesses the structure needed to age for a few years in the cellar.

The authentic and refined expression of a white wine from the Mâconnais

    The estate

Officially founded in 1859 in Beaune, the Louis Jadot House is a true institution in Burgundy. Today led by the Gagey family, this négociant-owner structure enjoys international renown. The estate stands out for its vast portfolio covering the finest Burgundian and Beaujolais terroirs. Deeply committed to sustainable viticulture and the authentic expression of the climats, the House brilliantly combines local tradition with global reach.

    The vineyard

Located in the southern part of the Burgundy region, the terroir of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation represents the qualitative peak of the Mâconnais. The vines flourish on high-altitude slopes marked by the presence of the famous rocks of Solutré and Vergisson. Resting on limestone, marl and clay-limestone soils of Jurassic origin, this vineyard benefits from a semi-continental climate with gentle southern influences, favouring optimal ripeness of the berries while preserving a beautiful mineral tension.

    Winemaking and aging

Crafted with great precision, this wine undergoes a meticulous fermentation in vats and barrels. It then benefits from partial aging in French oak barrels, with a proportion of new wood rigorously controlled so as not to mask the brightness of the fruit. Aging on fine lees completes this process, bringing a seductive roundness and additional aromatic complexity to the cuvée.
