This cuvée pairs wonderfully with grilled or roasted red meats such as duck, lamb or beef. It will also enhance light game, sautéed mushrooms or lightly aged cheeses such as Saint-Nectaire or a young Cantal.
Serving and cellaring
Endowed with a solid structure, the Santenay Village "Clos de Malte" 2022 can be enjoyed in its youth but also possesses a cellaring potential of a few years, allowing it to further develop its aromatic complexity until around 2027.

The estate
Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, the Maison Louis Jadot is a leading institution of Burgundy. Based in Beaune, it cultivates a vast vineyard of more than one hundred hectares. Since 1985, the property has belonged to the American group Kobrand Fine Wine & Spirits, while retaining family management ensured by the Gagey family. Both owner and négociant, the estate stands out for its commitment to preserving the typicity of each Burgundian terroir and for its recent shift towards organic and sustainable viticulture.
The vineyard
Located in the south of the Côte de Beaune, the Clos de Malte climat is a seven-hectare monopole owned by the house since 1993. Nestled in a small valley at the foot of Mont de Sène, within the Santenay appellation, this terroir benefits from a clay-limestone soil with a limestone outcrop. This singular geology, combined with excellent natural irrigation, provides an ideal environment for the vines to thrive.
Winemaking and aging
To craft the Santenay Village "Clos de Malte" 2022, the berries undergo fermentation in vats accompanied by maceration. The wine then benefits from a moderate aging in French oak barrels. This meticulous process allows the material to be extracted with delicacy, the tannins to be perfectly integrated and all the aromatic finesse of the fruit to be preserved.
